करीब 50 हफ्तों के बाद 16 मई को खत्म हुए सप्ताह में ग्रामीण बेरोजगारी दर बढ़कर 14.34 फीसदी हो गई। सेंटर फॉर मॉनिर्टंरग इंडियन इकोनॉमी (सीएमआईई) के मुताबिक, शहरी क्षेत्र में भी बेरोजगारी दर में इसी तरह से इजाफा हुआ है और शहरों में वह बढ़कर 14.71 प्रतिशत हो गई हैं। इसका सबसे बड़ा कारण लॉकडाउन को बताया जा रहा है, जो कोरोना की दूसरी लहर के बाद देशव्यापी तो नहीं, लेकिन लगभग 90 फीसदी हिस्से पर किसी न किसी रूप में लागू है।
